Prepare an Application Photo: Pixels, Crop & File Size
Prepare a JPG for an application: enter the required pixels, crop without stretching, and compress while keeping dimensions. Try a local example without uploading a photo.
Start with your upload requirements
Use the pixel dimensions shown by your application site. The values below are a practice example, not a universal ID-photo standard.
Try the illustrated example first →One photo, three steps
- Crop to the requested proportions
The cropper sets the ratio from your width and height. Move the frame to keep the face and shoulders; it does not stretch the source image.
Open cropper - Export at the exact pixels
Generate a preview and check the displayed dimensions. If the source is too small, enlarging it cannot restore facial detail. Millimetres and DPI alone do not specify upload pixels.
- Compress without changing dimensions
Choose “Continue to compression” to carry the image and size limit forward. Dimensions stay fixed. If the limit cannot be met, no oversized file is presented as a success.

Worked example: 354 × 472 px, under 100 KB
Start with the 720 × 960 px illustration, keep the 3:4 crop, export at 354 × 472 px, then compress with fixed dimensions. Check the final byte count and pixels before uploading to your application site.
This is a drawing for practice, not a real person or an acceptable application photo. The tools do not verify identity, replace backgrounds automatically, or guarantee acceptance.

Before submitting
- Exact pixel width and height, accepted format, and file size below the portal limit.
- Required background color, face placement, recent-photo rules, and visible facial detail.
- JPG transparency becomes white. This does not remove an existing colored background.
- Keep the original photo. Re-export from it instead of repeatedly compressing a compressed JPG.
Photos are processed on your device. Continuing between tools uses temporary local storage, removed after import or expired after 30 minutes; it is not an upload to TopicVerge.
